Looks like an alien item... in a good sense! What a unique and perfect wrap! Very hard to tell where it starts and where it ends the main wire. I even cannot figure out if all that "lace " is done only with thin wire, or did you also use some small beads? I have to ask, is that crystal secured in there? Looks like it might slip outside. Wow, I mean seriously... Thank you everyone, you all leave me speechless once again... If she doesn't like it, send it to me. I love it. That looks like something Merlin would have owned. I bet you could sell stuff like that at a renaisance fair. Awesome piece. But what keeps the crystal from slipping out the bottom? Amy... Yeah, actually we have a huge Renaissance Festival in the area every Fall. By huge I mean it is a permanent village, with a parking lot the size of an amusement park ( It even has it's own amusement park ). If I could find a way to set up a shop in there I bet I could make a killing... Anyone want in?... LOL... Oh, and my mom was close.... the crystal DID have a bump on the back, but my first attempt failed... the bump was actually in the way and pushed the stone up too far... so I filed the bump off with one of my little diamond files. Now, if you notice from the side pic, the crystal is a little thicker right where the coils wrap around from the back. There is actually a step in the back right above the big binds at the bottom. So, that step and ALOT of pressure is all that holds it in. I wore it to work the other day, I am an electrician. If it can survive my work day, then it should survive anything .... I do that with alot of my wraps... just in case .... Totally different and awesome Chris! What the heck is the fancy wire, did you make it? Jo Hey Jo! Thank you!... Yep, I had to make the fancy wire. Here how I did it... First, I coiled a 24ga wire ( about 8 feet for each, to make about a 10 inch coil ) tightly over another 24ga wire. Next I coiled that coil around a piece of 20ga. Finally I wrapped another 24ga wire around the whole thing. So, there's actually 4 wires in each of the fancy wires ( coiled coils?... I don't know what they are called... I like "fancy wies" ). Ican see that on the cover of a jewerly magazine !!! way to go .. Hell yeah... That would be the day!!... Lol.... Thanks man! I think Chris, you are trying to sell to a cheap crowd. If you go to swap meets, you need tumbles with glue on bails and cord necklace that you can sell cheap( a few dollars). Take your great pieces for showing and also priced to sell for the one in a million customer there. If you work a Renaissance as was mentioned here, you could sell at a very high price and get it. It is all about the market you are set up in and what the mind set of the crowd is. That is some amazing wire work! Fran Thank you too, Fran... Yeah, wrong crowd. I can't wait for spring!! Other than the weather... there are tons of art and craft shows around here, I think that would be more my market... I know there is alot of money in the area, I work on these peoples houses ... I'm going to get up early on Saturday ( 7:00 is early for me on the weekend, lol ) and go downtown here in Dayton to the Farmer's Market ( very upscale farmer's market ) and then hit up the galleries around downtown. But I really don't know what to say or do, I'll probably just end up walking around looking at stuff... lol.. I'm not a salesman... I just think that if I can make this stuff then anyone can.... Jo, Chris is at work so I will try to explain the fancy wire. He took a piece of copper and wrapped another piece of copper around that, wrapped tightly to make a coil. Then he wrapped the coil around a plain piece and a plain piece of copper wrapped around the whole thing giving it another dimension. It seemed very complex to me but then I don't do wraps. Everyone at the show was watching him work. He can clarify this much better but I am awestruck and he is my son. I don't think I am just prejudiced I think it is very very good. He does some outstanding work and he agreed to sell it for $40. Pretty cheap I think. But his prices are reasonable considering the metal used and the quality. Okay that's enough from a proud Mom. Tanya  ... Thanks mom.... LOL That is amazing Chris! I agree with Fran too, you have to fit your merchandise to the crowd you're courting. Tanya, you've got every right to be proud! Nate Awww man, Nate  .... don't encourage her.... ( just kidding mom ) Everyone else.... I will try to get to your questions tomorrow, right now it's past my bedtime.... Thanks once again, Chris
