Wanted to make something, but kinda hard making something for a guy when about all I have been doing is girly kind of stuff! Sooooooooo, looked at the knife blanks, looked at the instructions (thanks for the help) & this is what I came up with: Texas Hold'em with Birdseye Serpentine, which is beautiful material and easy to work with (thanks to Frog & Bear who gave it to me in a trade). Was sort of tricky doing it on the Genie but I got'er done. Next time (knives for brothers) I would do a pocket knife which would be smaller because they fold. This was a fairly small knife but really too long to work on the Genie. This is where I had the most trouble. Just couldn't get in there to get all the little scratches totally out without scratching something else up. So how did I do for my first one?

Very good work Donnie!! I Like It! Tip: fold a piece of lite plastic and put it into the bottom of the sheath. It will keep the point from poking a hole in it and also protect the leg if he wears it on his belt

Thanks, gr I didn't think about that! He collects knives so he will probably just set it on a shelf or put it in a display case. I already mailed it to him, so if he brings it home I can do the plastic thing then!

Very nice, Donnie. If you are having problems due to the Genie wheels being so close together look into their "Genie Wheel Adapter Kit" (101-ADP-GRK). I do larger fossil pieces and set my Genie up using the adapter so I have 4 wheels on (basically center wheels removed) and last two wheels on the extra spin on shaft. You loose the 6 wheels mounted convenience but it takes only seconds to spin the right side assembly on or off. Gives you more clearance than a Titan for a lot less money.

Great work Donnie. You fitted it real well. Good choice with the serpentine for your first one as it is softer and easier to work. I took every other wheel off my Diamond Jem and use only 3 on it. Gives me plenty of room to work. I change the left 2 hard wheels, the center expando stays the same(325) and the right expando I change for all the rest of the grits and add a spin on polish pad. For the metal...get a muslin buffing wheel and some white stainless rouge.(Can get it at auto parts store.) Takes the scratches out and polishes stainless to a mirror shine(brass too) Ken
