Superb work. The stone's color and pattern helps a lot, it's like watching the mermaind in some clear laguna waters.

...P.s.: Just remembered: Yesterday the annual Jewelery trade fair here in Hong Kong (biggest fair in Asia of any trade) opened (mostly "fine jewelry"), according to a lot of papers writing about it there is a definite trend establishing itself. Carved precious and semiprecious materials mixed with high end faceted stones in Silver and gold. The most interesting part of it is that suddenly other material than Jade turns up and motive carving is coming on strongly (Chinese always loved them, but was not that popular for international trade). Kurt, are you allowed to take photos at that fair? It would be interesting to see a fair from where you live. Adrian

[quote Kurt, are you allowed to take photos at that fair? It would be interesting to see a fair from where you live Adrian I'm not sure Adrian The fair is trade only, so you need affiliation with a jewelry company to get in. But if you go online and search for hk jewelry fair in a few days you will get some pictures from the space and produces. I'm planing to go in autumn when there are two conference centers joined and there will be at least some rough lapidary material. At this fair the cheapest "rough" advertised is for Topaz. This show is mostly high-end and finished jewelry. We already have several arrests as it is a target for thieves from all over the world. One guy got caught doing the switcheroo on a 5.5 carat F diamond ( he had an exact copy in his hands, ready to switch).

Thanks everybody!
I have to wait to hear from the lady I did it for to see what wire she wants it wrapped in to complete it as a pendant

Thanks! and no problem on the info I plan on asking for $150.00 for this one My next is going to be either another dragon hatchling or a mother dragon with her eggs. Going to do both but deciding which to do first is the ? since this is the year of the dragon!

Such a lovely work of art! The patterns within the larimar give the illusion of sunbeams through a rippling Caribbean cove, the playful mermaid enticing us to come and cavort with her ... *sigh!*
Lovely! Great work! Kris
