I am glad Jack said what he did about the rotary as that is what I plan to do. It was my understanding that it is really only the first stage (60-80 grit) that shaped the stones, the other grades merely (?) polished. Thanks, also, for the info on the saw. I spent a couple of hours 2 weeks ago cutting Tiger Eye slabs, pushing them into the blade! Fortunately I work at a salmon processing plant and was able to borrow a full size white rubber apron. I also wore a full face screen. I came away looking like some mad doctor out of a horror film! I shall PULL in future.

Checked after 2 days in the rotary 220 with sme other rocks I'm tumbling. Still in one piece and getting smoother already. I took photo with iphone and am posting with my iphone so if this comes out strange that is probably why. Ha.

Here are my pics. I tumbled these in a rotary - 220, 400, 600 and polish. I tumbled them with some bubblegum jaspers from the rock shed and a bunch of plastic pellets. I was suprised that they actually came out pretty good and shiny. Once again my pics aren't that great but they do shine nicely. They took about 5 weeks. I really need a vibe. Ha. Thanks for looking Bubblegum jaspers Hearts

Bill: Those came out great! I'm impressed that the hearts held up in a rotary.... And your pics are good too....if you show too much shine, you lose all the rock details...you got a good mix on those. Sue

Thanks everyone. I'm kinda shocked they didn't break into a million pieces or get totally deformed as well. If they did I would have still posted my disaster

Very Nice!! Your hearts are super nice, I think it is very cool that a cardiologist has taken up making hearts of stone. Your tumble turned out great too, it's such a rewarding feeling to finish one's 1st tumble, and especially when you got such nice results!
