I hope everything's gone well, I know surgery seems to take forever when you're on the waiting side. Wishing good luck, with recovery.

Thanks Krista and Randy.
She just got out of surgery. It was over 2 hours. She was pretty messed up. It seems her appendix burst a few days ago. Man, you would never have known. She hardly complained at all. Not to be too gross but she and everyone thought she was just constipated- which it turns out- is a symptom. Anyway, the infection spread pretty bad and she is going to have a long and painful recovery. But, she will recover. ;D Lucky (and blessed) little girl.

I'm glad she'll recover. I'm sure she'll be alright, sounds like a tough little lady to not complain too much about a burst appendix!

Very happy to hear that your granddaughter will be all right. As tough as she sounds, I am sure she will bounce back in no time.

What a scary experience!!! My younger son had appendicitis back when he was 9, and the only symptom was he was sleepy. Well, for a kid who bounced off of walls, sleepy was strange. He didn't seem interested in going to the bathroom either. VERY strange. When he was sleepy for 12 hours, I knew something was really wrong, talked to some friends on the phone, and one of them suggested appendicitis. I took him to the ER immediately, and they actually made him wait for 8 hours (they were remodeling our nearest hospital), before he was even diagnosed! Then they went into panic mode, and took him to Arnold Palmer Children's Hospital 1/2 hour away via ambulance, and he was in surgery in 10 minutes. It was absolutely crazy. His appendix did not burst, but the surgeon said we were really lucky... and that was catching it within a day of onset.
I never knew anyone with appendicitis before, so had no idea what to look for, but they told me that the #1 symptom is they do not poop. At all. This is very unusual in itself for small kids.
That said, she should be OK, kids have really remarkable healing powers. But you do still need to watch over her til the infection's cleared up, and keep an eye out for peritonitis symptoms (make sure she pees alot and poops).
With everyone keeping an eye out for her, I'm sure she will recover quickly!!!

How good to know your granddaughter is better now! May she have a quick recovery.
Despite the tension it was made under, that wrap is as beautiful and flawless as you usually make them.
