That do look like it would work, but as the reviewers said, Do Not Use on Polished Stone!!! All except that 1 person who used it on their black stone counter top so it had to have been sealed & polished before he used the stuff on it, apparently he didn't bother to read the instructions!!

Thanks for that link Scott. I found someone on ebay with an extra brand new un-opened bottle and got it for 1/2 the price of home depot. Sounds perfect I will post back after I try it out on a test piece.

Chuck please report your results.
I had not read the reviews. I will tell you it took polished "travertine" (looks like marble to me) and increased the sheen and added color contrast. Took some nice looking stone tiles and made them really stand up and look proud.
I am going to guess that bad reviews were on granite and even then a type of granite with a lot of quartz. I dont see this stuff doing anything for granite. It is absorbed into the pores of the travertine. Granite doesn't seem to have anything to soak in to.

Go to Home Depot and get some tile and grout sealer and brush it on. Then apply a thin coat of beeswax or paste wax such as Johnsons (the best). A maintainance film of wax periodically keeps them sealed tight.

with respect to coasters, wifey indicates she wants sandstone because the sandstone is a reservoir to hold some of the sweat that inevitably happens on iced drinks. Because we are in SoCal most drinks are iced.
I just used some of that sealer on a tremolite ball that simply would not polish. There are areas of actinolite and the area between the actinolite and tremolite will not polish. Hasn't dried yet. More here later.
