Wow, I missed this post. Very nice marbles, Steve! I used to carve soapstone in the '70s, soapstone is so porous, tough to shine. . . the best 'polish' I ever found for it is to buff out with petroleum jelly and a cloth, gives a very nice luster and richness.
Helen, I have long admired your glass work. . . that is nearly a spiritual experience, gazing into that beautiful orb.

Thanks Bill. I'll give it a try. At the club showing one member had a nice polish on her soapstone. She used tin oxide on leather. She said to rub, rub, rub until the stone was warm. I tried to do the same. I got the marble to shine, but still pales compared to hers.
