Mattatya somehow found some rock spheres at a thrift store and he gave them to me....thanks! One of them was a little bit rough and they all had a matte finish on them so I decided to repolish them. I forgot to take a picture of them before I started though. Anyway, here's what they look like after 200grit diamond polishing pads: I'll take more pictures as they go through the various diamond pads. It might take a while though.

Here they are after 400grit. Unfortunately, the second one from the left is starting to ovalize.

Now the last one on the right is starting to ovalize. I think I might have to regrind them. Here they are after 800grit:

NEW VERB!!!
Ovalize = the act of becoming like or similar to an oval. In three dimensional objects the object becomes like or similar to the shape of a hens egg.
Seriously, they probably have soft areas and will not polish. Thus they have ovalized! B-)

I think I applied too much pressure with the 200 and 400 grits on the soft spheres.

I decided to only continue polishing the 1st and 3rd ones. Here they are after 6000grit. The 3rd one does seem to take a polish but it is also soft and is not a sphere anymore. I polished the 1st one at 8000grit.

I would prefer ovals since they would not roll as easily.

I like the ovals too! I'd go ahead and finish them as well!
