I guess you know by now that I love to work with metal. When I started working with sterling silver is was about $4.50/oz.We all know what it costs today and I couldn't afford to buy it and give my work away any longer so,,,, I started working with what copper I had here and now that's just about all gone so,,,, I started making things out of tin cans cuz they're free! I made quite a few of these dogs and gave them to family and friends who love their dogs! I made this set for our oldest daughter, husband and g'daughters,,,Scooter and Magie are 2 real sweethearts,,,,, Time went on and a friend asked me to make him and his lady friend a tin can man holding a watering can. After thinking about the project and looking at tin can men on the web I knew that one holding a watering can would not stand up on it's own and would need a steel frame inside of it to support it as it leaned forward. I agreed to do the project if my friend covered my costs of oxy/acet ,spray paint and the steel needed for the frame. They accepted and the total cost was about 30 bucks. The results,,,, The most difficult part of this entire project for me was to make the water spout on that watering can!Grrrrrrrrrrr! To say that I work slow would be a HUGE understatement.I make a 3 toed sloth look like a speed demon and this project took me over 55 hours to complete! LOL Probably closer to 65 or maybe even 75 hours but I enjoyed (almost) every minute of it! So,,,,if you can't afford silver, copper or brass,,,,there's ALWAYS something else to play with! connrock

very cool looking!!!!
I used to live near a sheet metal shop and the owner had built a metal man and placed it on his roof top as an advertisement for his business... darn thing survived 15 years of CT storms before I moved to FL. Don't know if it is still there anymore.
