Went out and played in the shop for a few hours this morning and made this. It is size 8 Copper and Bronze that I joined right down the middle, hammered and made a copper tube setting for the 3mm Black spinel.

Way too cool. Not much of a ring wearing guy other than wedding ring, but I would wear that.

I really like this! Great texture and simplicity. Maybe one day I'll be good enough to whip up something so nice so quickly.

The tube setting was made from heavy wall tubing I got from Rio. I wish I could get it in some bigger sizes to make some tube settings for some 5 & 6mm stones. I think I will just have to make some sterling tubes for them.

Hobby tubing will probably have too thin of a wall but standard 1/4 inch tubing has a .020" wall and will work good for 6mm. For 5 mm you could probably make a tool to roll it down out of a tubing cutter. Lee #2

I checked the local scrap yard and they don't have any right now that small. I was actually headed to lowe's to see if the 1/4" they have would work. Thank you Lee and if have an online source please let me know.

Its a very cool ring and so original too.

I goofed a little on sizing though, forgot that tubing is sized by OD so to get 1/4 ID you need 3/8 OD. Ace has 5 feet for $11.99 in a coil, I think some stores sell straight sticks too.
