Wow, very unique whatever it is. Rather than having the translucency of agates, the reds look more like slate or something that is totally opaque. Wonder what it is?

I'd venture a wild guess that the reds are feldspar which commonly appears in such situations. It does have a cleavage pattern that results in flat exposures. tom

I second the pink as feldspar...it is definitely the most common pink stuff here. This was pulled out of Lake Huron. doesn't look like anything in it was ever alive, does it? So porphyritic jasper of some sort maybe? even more 'busy' once you get inside it, lots of wear on the outside didn't show the pink, and it didn't look as though it would be so full of flecks of calcite or quartz Thanks for cutting it and posting the results, Fossilman!

It was a wild cut,greens,black and pinks,with some greys!

Hrmm. I thought that would help with the ID, but I'm still clueless. I'm thinking breccia over porphyry, though.
