Just watched The Old Guard last night. The first half hour I wasn't sure I was going to like it, but then it turned out to be a really good movie. This is Elle King doing the last song in the movie. I love her voice. It's so unique.

Bothers me that so many people only know him as the guy from "Hee Haw" and do not realize what a tremendous musician he was. Here is Roy Clark in some clips from when he appeared on "The Odd Couple". Yep, I know it's ironic posting clips of another television show given my first sentence but they really do show off his versatility. If you are the impatient type go to 5:40 to hear his version of "Malaguena". No matter what genre(s) of music floats your boat, this is not to be missed. Yup! I grew up with him. My mom was a huge fan. Plus, we always saw him on Hew Haw. He can't really get away from that. That's how people came to love him.

The man sure knew how to pick!
One of my favorites - ETA: Oops, didn't realize that was in the previous clip from the Odd Couple. Well, here's the song in its entirety.
Roy Clark's Mesmerizing "Malagueña" (Live) Nov 14, 2018
The guy's smoking here!
My husband's late mother was born and raised in Camdenton, MO. SHOW ME! She claimed that Roy Cark was somehow related to her. My MIL's mother's last name was Stone, but for all I know he could have been related through her mother's father's side. I'm sure I could find out, but I don't know what her maiden name was.
Have genealogy going back to England on the Bradley side of the family, but no info on the Stones.
Back in the hollers of MO, Lake of the Ozarks, etc, many of my husband's relatives were into picking.

My Great-Grandfather lived with my Grandparents and whenever we would visit them he seemed to have Hee Haw on. It wasn't until later on that I understood all the family jokes about him watching that show. He was well into his 90's at that time and didn't care for country music at all. Apparently Great-Grandpa Frankie still had a thing for the pretty girls .

This is the first song I ever heard her sign sing on the radio in my car. Came home and bought the cd.
