The next time around with Sammy Hagar I have a special affinity for Montrose. They were the opening band for my first concert. Winterland in 1973. Mott the Hoople was the headliner with Joe Walsh as second bill. Montrose was added to the show. It was their second time performing. They had played there the weekend before for the first time. Tickets, with service charges, were $4.50. I've seen Montrose in every configuration including a 2 piece band. At one time I counted 45 performances but I kind of lost track. I always thought Sammy was the best singer but it's real close with Davey Pattison. I bought that cassette from the PX in 1983, been in love ever since. It sounds a lot better cranked on a real stereo as opposed to headphones.
