Beautiful rough. I bet it would make nice beads. I would be in for a box if you decide to sell some

I will get some MFRB's tomorrow, and see how much I can stuff in there. I will weigh it and post a price per box. If you want to send me a PM, giving me an idea of sizes and types (Pet Wood, Jasper, Agate, combination), I will send you the Paypal link and price, when I figure out the weights. No guarantees, but I will do my best to accommodate your requests.
Thanks, Jeremy

Jeremy, for the price you are figuring, I would think separating it according to type might be a little time consuming and might tend to be too much of a chore where you get tired of doing it. Maybe just random scoops and eyeball to be sure there's a decent mix. Just a thought...

Maybe you could simply make sure the box is loaded favorably in regards to type of rock desired by the buyer...in other words, a mix but with the bulk of it the desired type...did I make myself as clear as slurry?

Good suggestion! All will be mixes, but I will lean heavier on the desired type. Easy enough!

Why am I getting less interested in this as the discussion goes on?

Alright, I've sent out the first 2, MFR boxes. Both weighed 24+ lbs, but only taking Labor money for 22lbs @ $1.50 / lb ($33) plus freight @ $12.90 = $45.90 total. If you want a box, send me a PM and we'll go from there.

That's a good deal for such a nice assortment of tumbling rough! Nice opportunity for those that don't live near such rock piles to pick up a years worth of tumbling material. Good on ya! Why am I getting less interested in this as the discussion goes on? Because you're figuring out that you aren't gonna get a sweet box of rocks for eight bucks?

I'm sitting here in south Alabama kinda between "rock areas". I checked a really nice sandbar out last Sunday on the way to my daughter's house (got a new grandbaby and mama wanted some (more) family photos ). That spot is about not quiet 20 miles from me. I made my way to the sandbar and walked up and down it. Best find was a few clods of clay. I also rode some dirt roads...mostly crushed granite and limestone. Getting to a good rock hunting area will entail over an hour's drive time for me...several gallons of gasoline. So taking the travel time and gas expense in to consideration, $45.90 for 24# of what appears to be some fine river gravel is not a bad deal at all...no not at all. And, as captbob said, that'd give a guy a year's worth of tumbling rough or a supply of rough to stock while making rock hunting expeditions elsewhere. Now, if you have plenty of rocks down the road a couple of miles then the deal isn't that great...but for a somebody in a rock-deprived area it's a great deal for what appears to be some mighty good quality rough!

My shipment arrived yesterday and finally had time this morning to unpack it. Excellent materials! Thank you very much, Jeremy!

My shipment arrived yesterday, too, on the 28th. Jeremy shipped the rocks out fast and they were supposed to be here on the 25th but the USPS decided to give 24 pounds of rocks the scenic route from Texas to Alabama via New York state...maybe there's a shortcut that we don't know about, eh? I figure there were several disgruntled postal employees that heaved that box around...it ain't light!!! The box looked like crap when it finally got here...I'm sure it was body slammed a few times and rolled around a bit, but thanks to Jeremy's atomic bomb proof packaging they made it to me securely. I quickly looked through the rocks a few minutes ago and there is some interesting stuff in there...some petrified wood pieces with black or brown glassy-looking spots in them. Lots of other stuff that being the newbie I am, I have no idea what it is. Between a good guy on here that sent me some rocks to get started with and these rocks I've got probably a lifetime supply!!!!<grin> Add to that some I picked up this weekend, mostly pet wood (thanks to another friend!!!!) I'll have enough for several lifetimes!!! If anybody lives in a rock deprived area Jeremy's box will set you up for a quiet a *while*!!!! Thanks Jeremy for offering this!!!

Ed, thank you for the kind words! Maybe your rocks were blessed by the Pope, before they got to Alabama!
Hope you enjoy!
Jeremy
FYI....If anyone is interested in a package, send me a PM.

<chuckle> The pope works at the post office? Maybe that's why they took the side trip to NY...the pope was trying to get the rocks!!! If he would just join the forum he'd know where to get them from!!!!

Here are a couple new photos...... Discovered a new Gravel Bed! It appears to be bigger than the last one. Only problem is, the days are getting shorter, so you can't hunt more than an hour or so after work! Found this on the new gravel bed and had to open it up. Thanks for looking! Jeremy
