Whoa, those are beautiful, Don, and looking forward to seeing the cufflinks. The patterns in the wood reminds me of the gold/red hibiscus flower. How thick are the pieces of the pet wood? What type of pet wood is it? I love them all, the bezel set pendants, and especially how your metal 'flows' with the outline of the wood in the pendants with the prongs. |

Thank you gingerkid, The finished cabs ended up being around 6mm thick. I had to be careful in the slabbing to make sure I got enough slabs to fulfill the order. There's hairline fractures running through the rough which made slabbing risky, but I only had a problem with one slab breaking along a fracture line and was able to salvage it. the face of the cabs have lots of imperfections but I think they add to the character of the stone. I wish I knew the specifics about this wood, all I know was that it was collected sometime in the 1930's by the client's grandfather in Utah. I've never seen anything else quite like it. |

Sweet! I like the bezel set ones better than the prongs. But both types are nice. That wood is so cool! Thanks for sharing them. I do too, but the customer decided mid-way through the project that he wanted to keep the natural edge, so the rest of them had to be prong set. |

Those are amazing!! I've never seen wood like that before. I think I would feel privileged (and nervous) to work with it.  You did a great job with the pendants. They'll make everyone happy, for sure. |

These are outstanding. I personally like the prong setting, really lets you see all the stone!
