Our old magnet board that we used for shows got dropped and broke so last night was a rush project to whip up a new one. Simple scrap 1x4 frame and some construction adhesive.| $8 magnetic dry erase board from office suply The stones have very strong neodymium magnets epoxied to the backs. If you ever make these do not use the black craft store magnets they do not have very good holding power. Thanks for looking Chuck

Nice job! What size rare earth magnets do you use? Later on I might try making some of these and don't won't *too* much holding power! Naturally, I've gotta produce some polished rocks first...planning ahead. Thanks!

I think the rocks are much prettier than the board. ;) Jim

I think the rocks are much prettier than the board. Jim The displays make a HUGE difference at shows. Seems most folks just toss their stuff out on the table or have old falling apart cardboard boxes holding their goods. Not to mention I enjoy busting out the woodworking tools when I get the chance. Your set up looks very good. I would be more inclined to buy from a nicer table set up- shows pride in your work.

Nah, only takes a few months to fill a tray like that. When I was running at full capacity I had over 80 pounds rolling and vibrating at time. I do not advise anyone to try such a crazy thing Chuck

Those are awesome Chuck. I had seen one of your displays before but all together they look like they are made my someone that likes things squared away which says a lot for your rock work also. I wasn't putting your mag board down, I just had a hard time looking at it because of the rocks. I understand about the wood work. I get the feeling too but gave away all my wood working tools when I downsized and now I am trying to bring it back up again only miniature this time. Wood is a great medium to work with and even sagebrush is great wood. Jim

Excellent organization and density of pieces. The thought you put into your display increases the perception of thoughtfulness in your craftsmanship. Great job, Chuck, and good luck at the show!

Good to see a display made with pride and care, too many junky ones out there. Where do you get the magnets? Got a couple a few years ago, only place I could find them was Ontario, Canada, cost a fortune. The guy even apologized for the cost, CA to U.S. expensive.

Regarding rare earth magnets: I've bought a couple of times for different projects from this outfit...was competitively priced when I first bought from them but haven't done any comparisons since then. Was always satisfied withe them and *loads* of info and tips on their website. www.kjmagnetics.com/
