Seams of agate and quartz running through a host rock, possibly chert or jasper.

If it's not your favorite rock in the world or a family heirloom, sure why not!
The host rock may be "softer" than the agate (looks to be agate with the bands) so it may undercut when tumbled. Meaning the host rock would wear away faster. Just keep an eye on it in the coarse grit and you could end up with some interesting looking tumbles.

Carroll County has a lot of sandstone, so I think you have well-silicified, brecciated sandstone with agate filling the voids. The sandstone still may cut and polish well if it has enough silica content. The alternating layers of dark and light, plus the agate seams make a very attractive pattern, and I agree that it would be worth trying to polish a bit of it to see how it fares.

Thanks I will bust it up and add some of it to next batch. Might have to make or buy another tumbler at this rate.

Might have to make or buy another tumbler at this rate. If you wait to do it, it will only mean you lost valuable tumbling time. Because if you're thinking about it, your subconscious probably already decided to and it's just waiting for the "rational" part of you to come up with a reasonable sounding justification. Of course, I could just be trying to get others to spend money and time to justify my own "knee deep, first time out" behavior.

Threw some in the smaller tumbler with my mix of creek stuff and Mozarkite, some parts where rusted inside when I busted it up. I have no way to polish it or I would have.

Well going Sunday to pick up two 6# Chicago brand rock tumblers (extra grits, plastic beads, extra seals,$50 for the whole lot)

Nice find. I've seen the CE tumblers get a lot of grief, but mine has been great, running 24/7 for 6 months now. Not bad considering I paid $38 dollars for it new (with coupon )
