That's too bad, Sean. I'm sure she had her reasons. But, maybe you could ask her if you could have one if someone gave you one. You never know, it could happen. Her reasons were noise, expense, and the "crazy amount of water it requires." But yeah, I'll see what she says to that.

Do you have a garage or workshop away from the house? Start thinking about volunteer work. She will like that as much as we will. Expense can be minimized by continuing to be charming. The collective quantity of rocks owned by members here is staggering. Heck, i am a newbie and i have a couple tons! Lol.....

Lol..... 1) Eh, we have to to do a gallon every two days for two weeks during July (band camp) But yes, that is 'crazy'. 2) Our garage is connected to the house and we lack a workshop. 3) I seriously don't have enough time to do that. But I did help her when she volunteered at the senior center a year or so ago. 4) I already am. I work for my money; i.e. I don't get an allowance. 5) > newbie > over 12k posts

seanYes newbie. Only 5 years or so in the lapidary world.... We have members been cutting rocks for longer than I have been alive. And I am old enough to be your grandfather! It makes me proud to know a young man works for all his money. Good on you! This country needs many many kids like that. Tip of the hat to you, young man.

@shotgunner
In a country where many people have the mindset of "if I break it, I can get another one," working for money is something we desperately need.
Now, can someone please tell that to our government officials?

Let's just say that if I could be an employee of the EPA and watch porn all day and get a raise, I'd be livid.

Sean, if you look at the "Welcome to RTH" section, it describes how to post photos on this forum as well as other good things about this forum.

Sean, if you look at the "Welcome to RTH" section, it describes how to post photos on this forum as well as other good things about this forum. KD Photobucket slows my computer down and bombards me with pop-up ads regardless of what adblocker I use And I don't have a Yahoo account.

RTH is also present on Facebook, but it's not quite the wealth of information or community as this forum. Do you really need a yahoo account to have a Photobucket one? Admittedly, Photobucket is a PIA.
