Best one yet, though still struggling with scratches caused by prepolish and a few oopsies. Morganite, 1.2 ct

I solemnly swear I will NEVER start a hobby of faceting gem stones.
Michelle, that is super good! And you have amped up your photo abilities. I am proud to know you. Well done young lady.

@shotgunner, hahaha I just take a picture through my cell phone cam holding it up to a 10x loupe. My photo abilities are as terrible as ever. you never know, it's never too late to start...at least until your eyes go. Better get it in while you can!

That first pic is almost an optical illusion. I thought it was a bunch of rolled up aluminum foil! Then I saw the other photos and thought Wow. Really beautiful. Good work.

A beautiful cut stone; the only minor issues are just about visible to a 10x loupe photo enlarged to 50 times? Not bad then.

Nice job Michelle! Do you know the name of that particular cut? I just cut my first sunstone (in an emerald cut) and I concluded that small stones are not my forte. I will try to stick to 3 carats or greater in the future. I'm impressed with the fine job you did with this stone at 1.25 carat.

mossyrockhound , this is Rand's Cut Corner Rectangle, available through the USFG website. I'd love to cut more large stones but the nice ones come small. Congrats on your first stone! Can't wait to see it.
