Dump loot, Return to scene of crime . . . May take a year Dave. 2 old men achy and sore. No more skin on my shins LOL. Mesquite formidable and causes swelling. Must have poisons in it. Saved the upland mesquite collecting till the last few days. Thankful we had quarry's and lake shore to hunt.

I am sure of one thing 1dave , the yellow mosses have a strong flavor if they are poorly silicified. Stopped licking them !! Certain that there is some serious chemistry going on in these rocks. If I remember correctly that area is known for yellow arsenic agates, or was it cyanide cherts... Wondered why I was seeing double Mike. Maybe the cows were aliens ?

Should be a three year supply Pat. I guess you can purchase rocks, this is too fun stealing them from the wilds. Collecting selectively for size and shape. Got some plans. @shotgunner, I will sort through and find you the prime est sphere candidate. May pre-grind it for you to make sure it is solid and pretty throughout. May roll it in coarse to assist seeing imperfections. These river ground mosses are tough cookies. The gal at the restaurant was 'no ingles' , had to get a young gal to interpret. Most conversation here is in Spanish. Caucasian a serious minority. Very attractive and gregarious people here. Unfortunately foreign oil purchases have ghosted a lot of this town since 3 years ago.

Alright, that's it. I'm taking a trip somewhere next year and collecting rocks. This USPS hounding is getting old. Taking applications for guides. I make a mean teriyaki ground beef jerky.

Just go to the powow in Quartzite. Join the local club. They have trips every day. Plus the trip culminates with a party at catmandewe winter home.

Shipped 8 LFRB today. Got 10 five gallon bucket full. should last 3 years going full tilt. Also made lots of tumbles in the field. Picking only the best shapes. Weight saver for return trip. Have jerky, will hire.

This rock photo feed is killing my keyboard, with the drollin'!!!! Two thumbs up James... Today starting at 2PM was palm time. Could only find it in a small area. 307 altitude. There is an oyster level. Probably 5 feet above that. So palm photos for further drool. I found oysters on other hills. Must go back and check just above them.

I love how you read the habitat.
I am carefully observing your methods.
Thank you!

I know it's rude to invite oneself but I'm in!!! Make some great deer jerky. We'll see if we can train the cows to lick the rocks for us.

Sabre52, I got into the palms today. In a 100 foot circle where I happened on a couple over the past few days. Checked all over that 10 acre field and could not find another palm. Confused. You may have heard Mr. Dillon mention 'black skins'. Not sure if they are referring to wood and palm though. Well several of those palms were black skinned for whatever that is worth. The palm is entirely different to collect. Does look like wood. Some has ugly skin/coating/color. Never found a palm in my life. captbob, it was there the whole time. It is ugly and not so obvious. Found some world class shnitt today though. Nice big chunks too. Elated, love palm. Just disturbed that it was limited to 100 foot circle #$%@!. Guessing it is native to the area. There is a bonified oyster layer just at bottom of caliche... My bestest 2nd best at 8 pounds runner up, black skin about 7 pounds, side and window On right a black skin few more biggest one, cross cut and window This one weighs about 12 pounds, this is a third of it I think this is a poppy jasper, not palm for irritation's sake And two 5 gallon buckets of jasper and mosses/plumes today. Dialing in on the jaspers. I'll make a flickr link.

Bob, you were right about this field. I may have covered a third of it. Farmer must have pushed all the mosquito bushes down thank you. Suppose I need to extend my stay. If it makes you feel better I got buckled over by wicked stomach cramps. Don't lick rocks where the cattle roam. Some of today's catch www.flickr.com/photos/67205364@N06/sets/72157674436062631Area where the palm occurs. A big area and covered with treasures.

Those look like Brahma cattle.......... Wide variety of cows. They stay by the lake during day to take swims and drink. As the sun gets low they swing up to collect rocks. When driving out I have to wait for them to get out of the road. My friend Fernando whom got me a pass to get on these properties had 14 cattle stolen a few months ago. They caught them, I think cattle rustling in Texas will take them past the state jail and down the road to the big Hilton.
