My next project is for something much smaller and more complicated. Had to order new blades and drill bits first, though. I'll post it when I finish it. ETA: Here is the next project. Don't know if I can do it, but I'm gonna try. That's a wonderful dog-paw pendant. For the cat, have you considered etching it (or is that cheating?)

Not all the way through, though- too thick. Etching is just another skill. The pictured piece is on 20g. I have since enlarged it a hair and pasted it to a pair of glued up sheets of 26g (or was it 28g?). They will be earrings. I should have my new tools Mon, I hope. I have a bunch of things prepped for then. Including a new paw tag for roy . Here is a new piece that I did yesterday for my other daughter. This is pretty small, but did not require the tiny drill bits that the others do.

You have the patience of Job. Lots of sawing and drilling and filing.
First thought was that you had purchased a laser cutter.

That cat is cool. I like the internal reflection. A solid cat mirroring the cutout cat. Creative and pretty!!

Yup, that's a good looking design. Cats don't always get their due.

Yup, that's a good looking design. Cats don't always get their due. I agree. I 'm a cat lover (dog lover, too). I found a cat paw print and made a heart with those, too. But, I have to admit, I found that image online and converted it to something I could saw. I'm not that talented. I'm also not claiming that I did it and I'm not selling it, to be fair. I don't have a clue who did it originally, so I can't give credit.

Got my new Knew Concepts saw at 70.00. Returned it the next day.... defective. Got some Lynx hi quality drill bits at 72.00. One was a dud. Cut wrong or something. Rio is sending me a replacement for it. You just can't buy anything worth a crap now a days. This is setting my plans back.

My first saws were the German style, but I now use a Swiss style exclusively as I prefer the way the blades are secured. The knurled knob on those is a lot smaller than the oversized wing nut arrangement on the German style and doesn't get in the way as badly. Seems to me that Rio's quality has went to crap since they became a publicly traded company. Too much pressure to perform for the investors and selling lots of cheap Chinese junk at inflated prices to drive up the profit margin. Same thing happened to Bass Pro shops.

I totally agree, and their mailing service along with it.

I'm not defending Rio, because I have had problems, too, but these tools weren't made by them. I purposely bought the higher end product expecting better quality. radio- After I got used to using the Knew saw, before I realized the problem with it, it was pleasant to use and change blades. I like how light it is. I have some nerve damage from Carpel tunnel syndrome, so it really helps me out.

I realize the tools aren't made by them, but anymore for the most part, they buy chinese made copies of the good tools they used to carry. I'm not sure if the Knew concepts saw has been copied by the Chinese yet and you got a forgery, but it would not surprise me in the slightest. I refuse to buy metals from Rio as the soldering properties are different from order to order. That tells me they buy precious metal on a cheapest bid process and the alloys vary a bit from manufacturer to manufacturer. I use a LOT of sterling and consistency is something I must have. I do this for a living and don't have time to struggle with adjusting from batch to batch. One would think that Sterling is Sterling no matter the source, but the soldering characteristics can vary a good deal

I won't even buy argentium from them. I sure hope I never find out that they are selling knock offs. That would entice me to join a class action lawsuit.
