After the reclamation they created quite a trail system for walking and horses . 20 miles from my house . I lived about 22 miles away from many years. Do you ever go rock hunting in the Blue Hills? No we haven't yet , never give it a thought I guess . Lot of possibilities on a lot of county land . Went to a small waterfall up there a couple times , Devils Kettle , just off Cty O . Just gorgeous up in the hills in the fall .

Yes, have been there many times. Also, Devil's Creek along the large outcroppings is a great place to find rocks. There are plenty of ATV trails that have great finds within a short walk, too. I found a huge, like 75 lb agate, near one of the trails. It was partially buried and I had no way to carry it. It was beautiful. You should also check out the Felsenmeer. Breathtaking.

Have friends who went to the felsemer , said it was well worth seeing . We walked past some of the outcroppings going into the falls , wasn't so rock addicted then so we didn't do a lot of exploring . Have to make another trip up there . Have you ever heard the legend of the lost treasure up in the hills ? Can't remember the details about it but supposedly a small fortune was hidden or something and never recovered .

Interesting you should mention the "hidden fortune". I know of one. Heard about it from a friend. This one was hidden by his Uncle or Great Uncle. A hermit of sorts, who did not trust banks. After the Uncle passed away, the family went searching in the house, for what was supposedly lots of money and early gold/silver coins. No luck, but my friend did find a hand written map. The items were supposed to be in an old Wells Fargo lock box, buried 4' down at the time. Somewhere near the old Pipestone Quarry, as that was on the map. My friend often hiked and camped in the Hills, so he went in search. Was never able to determine the exact location, but was very secretive about where he was searching. My friend suddenly passed away a couple years after he started hunting. Do not know what happened to the map, or if it was destroyed and he was relying on memory. That is the only fortune story I know of. But, the way people are in that area, there could be many more.

Not sure what happened but I think it had something with losing his savings during the depression . When he would go to get supplies he would always pay with gold or silver coins . I had the story in written form somewhere , will have to do some digging , see if I can find it .

Yes, that is correct. He lived on Adams Road (I think), East of Bruce. all I have is what my friend told me after his Uncle's passing.

Back on topic. SEnt photos and description to my Geologist/Professor contact. He is forwarding them to the person in charge of the "local" gold collecting society and another expert Mineralogist.
He felt they had potential. I may also be taking them for an exam, when there are more present with him who know a lot more about Gold, lol. All depends on what the "experts" have to say. If this is gold, it would be a significant find for this area. My contact already knows of many amazing things my land has given to me, so nothing I find surprises him.
