Darn fancy nursery operation coloradocliff . I stuck to the wholesale side for what it's worth. Sterile, got my orders on Fax and email. Did not deal w/many people. Had off time fall and winter. Would usually deliver in a pick up. Min delivery was $800. Average $1200. Pulled a trailer for larger orders. Not a big income machine at all. Grew about all the stock. Aquatics expensive and fast growing. Had to focus on habitat, water holding containers and earthen ponds. Weeds were #1 enemy next to critters. Perhaps consider a working partner and let him buy the biz over time ? Damn if I did not hire a friend to help weld fire pits. He has inquired about being full time. Me thinking about engaging him to do more of the work and slowly let him work into buying the biz. But he is one in a million, super cool guy and hard hard worker. Partnering is potential for problems. Fine operation That's only half the greenhouse range. The other half of the structures is on the left side and out of camera view. Acre and a half of greenhouses. Lotsa work maintaining and producing them. Want a clean sale. Seen other people go thru heck trying to deal with partners and wanna be buyers. This particular nursery is the last of three big ones I built , operated and sold or are selling. Hyper here. HAve a serious buyer looking now. Helps. Not impatient to sell but woud lke to be in your position for sure. Like it that the friend helping you is interested in full time. Hard to find employees here. Have a bunch but am short handed. Saw the partner thing many times. Would never want one. A "beta" partner would drive me crazy and 2 "Alphas" in the same pen will fight. Where you finding Muriatic acid (HCl) locally? Packaging or molality not important. Don't need to be pure. For wood.. Sure liking how you got the picture nice and big. Size matters huh?
I follow your every point. Go for the straight sale. Makes perfect sense. You are done-finished with the thing. Ha, I ran into the same thing. Where to buy super dangerous Muriatic acid. Guess what, Home Depot some how gets away selling it. Right off the shelf. They have pallets of it. Like Gatorade. One day an accident will occur. A small biz would catch hell by regulators if they were selling it. So what, go to the Depot, they are good for something like this.

Thanks Big guy..Cliff

I need Muriatic acid for my swimming pool water now and then. Any place that sells pool supplies should have it.

coloradocliff, Colorado may be real strict on regulation of such a chemical. Too much weed has increased paranoia ha. Guessing some states have stricter rules about acids. Bob's idea, pool supply. Or is it too cold to have a pool up there ? Shipping a gallon costs more than the acid.

We used muriatic acid to clean roofs if some stray stucco dropped on them. All the masonry trades used it to clean brick and concrete.Always was a common product here.Just have to be careful using it,dont splash it in your eyes.

Muriatic acid is necessary to change (lower) the ph of the water. Hot tubs would probably need it as well. Colorado gotta have hot tubs!

NO fun. Watch the fumes too!

The pool supply idea rocks.. Will check. A lot of pools in hotels. We swim in th e mountain lakes. Keeps us really furry for the long winters. Dated a bear for 2 years before someone shot her and tagged her...

Home depot sells half strength muriatic for spas and pools. 18 molar instead of full strength 36 molar. Makes the price seem low...

Accelerating rust using diluted Muriatic. From no rust to this in 8 hours. Just poured Muriatc on this one, ready to be spread with broom.

Yeah, had a good year. All gone now except bell and jalapeno peppers. They will load up again this fall and have a good crop.Got to keep watering to keep them alive.Made some pepper jelly, recipe off surejell package, gonna have to make more this fall!Pretty darn good. snuffy We're only growing jalapenos this year. Got tired of rats getting into the tomatoes. Last year, killed 15 with snap traps until I gave up. Rats have stayed out of the jalapenos though. I love jalapeno jelly. Have you made habanero jelly yet? I think it's outstanding. Dave Love hot pepper jellies! Hoping for a good crop this year, my canning stock pile is all gone.

No habanero.I don't go for a real hot flavor. snuffy I like hot stuff, but my wife doesn't. She found a recipe online where (I believe) apricot juice was used to cut/dillute the liquid. I think she only ended up using one pepper. You could even use a bit less if you needed. Had a nice bite to it and great flavor. I think the aftertaste of habanero is sweet anyway. The apricot juice was a perfect companion, so to speak. Dave Made mango carrot habanero salsa one year. Yummy!!

I usually just let them sit out in the full sun and weather John. The rain and sun removes the acid. Often just let mother nature do the rusting. Full sun generating heat speeds rust. In either case I wire brush them with a cup type wire brush on a big angle grinder. No coatings. eventually the surface oxidizes out and the yellow powdery rusts stops being made. Surface turns dark bronze, final patina. So an incubation period, growing rust ha.

The property is separated into 2 lots. She has no ownership rights to the 17 acres(my lot) and I do whatever the ---- I want to do over there. The separate lot was by design 33 years ago. A man needs a very nice dog house BEFORE entering matrimony. I have threatened a gate, she better behave.
