I am brand new at this, and I'm not sure of which type of tumbler to buy, rotary or vibrating. I have read that vibrating tumblers give faster results, but, I'm not sure of the advantages and disadvantages of each. Thank You

Hi. I do not like vibratory tumblers. In my opinion, they are agressive, noisey, and just don't seem right. Perhaps it is because I am used to rotary. I just have developed the feel for the tumble, and the sound. I can hear the stones and grit, and can tell when I need to recharge. I have been able to tumble some pretty unlikely stones with my drums. The only use I have for the vibratory tumblers is to clean my soldered silver, with walnut media, and spent rifle casings for reload.
