i have looked all over and like the proverbial Ivory powdered soap i CANNOT find borax (20 mule team or otherwise) anywhere...! are you getting yours in the local grocery or buying it in rock shops? or maybe i am living in a void.....

Got my Borax at the grocery store in the laundry detergent isle. I'm in GA, don't know if that matters Have yet to see the Ivory soap powder, but Tarylina said she researched it and they don't make it (at least in the US) anymore. I believe most people shave the bars. cookie

KD i got my borax in the laundry detergent isle at the acme theres two kinds ones a soap and ones an additive get the additive for laundry it dosent foam up
i just went back a few weeks ago and they didnt have any so i got arm and hammer laundry additive and that seems to be workin ok i even put some in my water drip for the grinder seems to make the rocks slide better on the wheels so ill use that till i find more borax

James- Do you use SASI? Do you know if this is interchangeable with the 500? Any opinions compared to SC? Then to the Tripoli or 1000? -Banjo

I'm ran outta SISA and got Tripoli instead. They are both as good. I don't do a 500 grit step. I go straight from 120/220 and it works just fine. I still don't like the SC pre-polishes.

I got my borax at Wal-Mart in the laundry isle, if I rememer right it was on the top shelf.
