Sabre52What bait would I use for kit fox? ETA I use peanut butter and raw bacon. One of those will catch any mouse or rat in a home.

Caught a beaver in a leghold trap and the drowning wire messed up. I got a forked pole and held it under. I smoked a cigarette, the beaver was not moving, no more bubbles, dead for sure.... I let him up, he took a breath and I got a do over. I did skin him...later.

My house is mouse proof but one time the cat brought one inside and lost it, the said mouse played merry hell for a few days and then stopped, we thought it must have got back outside. Nah, the thing had crawled in the back of the electric stove and zapped itself on top of one of the switch/ dial things, fine for a few days until it liquified like dead rats and mice do and shorted out the stove with a flash and a cloud of greasy black stinking dead mouse smoke, It would have started a fire if we hadn't been there. Why do dead mice and rats smell so bad?

Saw this old version of a mouse trap that can hold multiple rodents and thought it was pretty cool. You could probably build something like this to scale and save yourself the trouble of drowning them all.

Why do dead mice and rats smell so bad? Dead mice smell worse than dead rats. jeannie had one die in her car during 100°+ weather while we were gone a week. Came back to the morgue smell x1000! Hoeboy!
