I tried some wire wrapping last year using some glass I bought at the craft store. I was too cheap to buy the wire wrapping tools and got so frustrated trying to do it with the hardware store tools, I just gave it up. When I started seeing all these wonderful wire wrapped stones and got the wrapping bug (again), I invested in the proper tools. Made all the difference in the world for me. Those four stones I wrapped on my first try took less time than it took to wrap one piece of glass with the regular tools. Speaking of wirewrapping and tools, I ran across this great site. www.wigjig.com/ It has tons of info. Although it is mainly bead work, there are instuctions on how to make all sorts of loops, chains, jewelry and such. I also did some research on where to order sterling silver wire and found these two sites that offer the best prices I could find. www.artbeads.com/ This place has the best prices on the smaller gauge wire - 48' 24 ga. for $13.99 and free shipping www.conniefox.com/Default.htm They have the best prices on the larger gauge wires. I bought a 25' roll of 24 gauge at the local bead store. It was $43.75! I wanted some 18 and 20 gauge also and was searching the Net for those gauges and discovered I could order 5 different kinds of wire for just a few dollars more that that one roll from the bead store! Needless to say, I returned it! Sheesh, what a rip off! She did have 9 beautiful pieces of moss agate that I just had to have. They are all similiar size and shape and have a hole drillled in them, so I have to decide what to do with them. I have an idea in my head for a necklace and matching earrings.

My favorite place on the internet to buy wire is www.parawire.com they carry a variety of colors and types of wire. All their colored wire is color coated copper wire. The silver is very soft and easy to manipulate into shapes you want. Tami

I didn't find that one. And, I'm gonna be sick if their stainless prices are less than the ones I ordered. LOL! Thanks for the link - I'll keep it in my favs for next time.

You are very welcome, now I am not sure if they have stainless steel or not.

Kim, doc is talking about 320grit sandpaper when he says " a sheet of 320 " that's all. OK? Any hardware store will have it. Good luck, Don
