Looks like a fun day collecting! You found some good looking material. Technically night. I did not get to the area until after dark for most of this stuff so I was walking around with a flashlight looking for stuff. Left the parking lights on the new truck so I can find it easier in the dark. Did not know the parking lights turn themselves off automatically. Good thing I know the area or I may not have found the truck in the dark.

What are the green ones? I am partial to green rocks, as there are few of them in WI, unless they are copper related.
Yes, very glad you knew the area. Might consider placing a battery powered led light on or in truck in the future.

Might consider placing a battery powered led light on or in truck in the future. Some of the dark green is jasper and some of it is common opal. In fact a lot of the other colors are also common opal. I did buy reflective stickers to put on the truck and eventually make pole to attach with reflectors. Just got the truck though so learning how some things work. My old truck the lights do not automatically turn off so I was not expecting that with this truck. I also have small lights on Jax' harness that I could set on the truck as beacons.

That is beautiful stuff. Anybody looking for green rocks, come to Vermont. It ain't called "The Green Mountain State" for nothing. We've got olivine and pyroxene, green talc (hard to get now, main site is closed), serpentine, and more. Even green garnet. Most rocks seem to be green. Or grey. Lots of grey. Granite, schist, phyllite, limestone, marble, magnetite...

That's a nice way to spend an evening! I've had friends lose their way or vehicle, no fun. I always mark my Jeep on a GPS so we can find it.

I was gonna suggest a GPS, too. Quite reasonable in price now. Used ones can be had for cheap off Craigslist.
The rocks are really nice James. I bet you'd fill the truck if you were there during daylight.

I bet you'd fill the truck if you were there during daylight. My dad gave me a really nice GPS last year, I just did not have it with me. And I know the area pretty well, at least in the light, but took me a lot longer to get there than I expected because Jax and I stopped at a new place near Columbus, Nevada. Was hoping to get to Candelaria as well but the days are just too short right now. Want to head back up there in a few months and spend the night. There was the coolest breccia I have ever seen partially buried. Unfortunately the shovel was buried in the truck under presents and luggage. So I want to go back and dig that up. The recent heavy rains will also have provided new material to collect.
