I love sodalite. Bought a chunk of it when Barbara and I went to the rock shop a few weeks ago. Cut some slabs and am tumbling the rest. Wish I would have gotten more of it!
I hadn't ever seen blue jasper before. It is really pretty. Can't wait to see what you do with it.
I REALLY want another chunk of mook and hopefully this time I will get some with some color in it. I also want some purple agate, but am on a "no more rocks for now" budget, so it's all on my wish list.

hey don bb sang (the thrill is gone---baaaaby) he must not have seen all the great rocks out there hahahaha its a thrill just to hold them in your hand but i couldent wait im slabin some of that sodalite right now its 10:04 pm im waitin for the neighbors to call the cops hahahahaha hell wit um if they cant take a joke i put up with the pounding every day and dont complain and its friday nite so no work tomorrow seeya-s john

Hi John, I have some chunks from "gem grubbin" and didn't know what they were. Now I know its solidite. They are kina big, they've beEn through a full tumble once, but are still about 2" by 3". Should I break them up? Don't have a saw. Thanks

hi all ---kim i got a whole lotta stuff runnin but mainly i have a load of small sodalite in tripoli tonight and a nice load of that mook in with it think a few pieces of the rose quartz too i havent gotten a good polish since my first load so its all been goin back hahaha im hopein to follow what james is doin with tripoli and see if thats my proba gotta a 6-lber full of that jet black smoky quartz in 60/90 for about three weeks not ready yet but gettin close, some of that tigeriron is in there too somewear hahahaha i keep grabbin handfulls and fillin barrels when there low so could be anything, some flintridge flint too in there somewear.
cookie it all depends what your gonna do with them i like both big and small if i find something big i realy like i can allways grind or cut it to what i want i been playin around with free form shapes there pretty primative lookin but im just gettin the feel for the grinder they will get better as i learn more its fun to just make a triangle or a cross i just threw some in the tripoli tonight fig id do a pre --and a polish on them see what happens ok seeya-s john

That star shape in the middle, what is the peach color? Thas gonna be pretty polished.

i dont know cookie prob just something that got cought in the rock when forming its smooth and hard like the rest maybe it will polish up the same if not ill work around it hahaha, i just cut acouple crosses from a slab looks like i was blind folded when i did um hahahahaha tell ya what im sure you can use a good laugh dont forget im just learnin no rollin on the floor hahaha ok just alittle i did them by eye i dont have a stencil yet to trace them seeya---john img37.photobucket.com/albums/v115/sandsman1/cross_rough3.jpg[/img]

i did both kim i have a 8 inch trim saw i got used on ebay befor i got the slab saw i finaly got the grinder up and running too im just gettin started realy i cut slabs for like two weeks so im stocked up on them now i fig id kill a few learning hahaha ok seeya-s ---john

I have two ring that my ex wants to make her with the sodalite. Made three cabs and two were to thin by the time they were done an one came out perfect but the damn thing broke when i bent the prongs down on the ring. It sure polishes nice but to soft for this beginner. :-/Good luck with it John.

your right brett i was grinding away on another cross and it just snaped in half gotta be easy with it or slab it alittle thicker like i said befor i have no idea what im doin but ya gotta start somewear,haha i cant wait to see if i get a good polish on the small stuff i have in tripoli right now like 5lb of it well it was 5lb hahaha prob not close now seeya---john
