Putting this out here, instead of ID thread in hopes of some fossil experts helping. Did not put anything in photos for size, as phone camera kept focusing on that instead of specimen. It is about 4” long. View 1 View 1 This reminds me of a current day pollywog, aka, frog in development and in water. View 2 View 2 Turned to side. The rounded portion below the void appears to be part of the form in previous photo. Also, some other areas of what appears to be fossilized materials, possibly coral fragments. View 3 View 3, reverse side of view 1 Reverse size of view 1. The area in upper left appears to be quartzite. This photo shows a somewhat frothy appearance. View 4 Another view A pocket of crystals, more strange formations. Some of these are waxy to the touch. Loop does not reveal any crystal structure in the waxy areas. The areas of pores are irregular, but very hard. Many pores like this on other finds, I can chip off with a knife, but not these. Appears to be another chunk off the Niagara Escarpment containing ancient sea creatures. Any thoughts would be appreciated. Thank you.
