my friends from idaho got here last night and here are 2 rocks they picked up in their yard. anyone know what they are? kim

Hello Kim,
It's hard to say for sure, but they do look nice. The white and tan piece looks like an agate (although I have seen petrified wood with a similar pattern) and the black piece, I am not sure.
It's nice of your friends to bring you rocks!

i thought maybe it was an agate but being from a "no rock" area and ordering most of my rocks except the gravel i have limited skills at this identification thing. when you order rocks you know the name when you pick it out ;D.
the black rock has a very waxy feel to it. it is partially wet/partially dry in the pic.

hey kim you got some real nice rock there i dont know what they are but i realt like the big green piece in the 4th pic down in the top left theres a big piece of orange redish rock next to it thats cool too

i don't know if any of these except the agate will tumble and polish but nothing ventured nothing gained so they will get tried. there is one that is really crumbly feeling that i may toss in the rockgarden instead. of course i have to bust most of them up and it won't quit raining here. but that's ok cause i don't have any free barrels and plenty of other things to run if i did.

The tan and cream colored rock in the first photo looks alot like Onyx.
