OK, so not labor intensive lapidary arts, but something fun and inexpensive. The horses and dolphins are stainless steel with abalone inlays. The time to make a pair of earrings is about 10 minutes. Necklaces, 15 minutes. I purchase the chain in bulk and cut to length, then attach the end rings and clasp. Sell these for $6.00. Cost of materials are about $.35. I was able to purchase the horses, dolphins and some moon/stars on clearance. These can be engraved on the back with the name of the recipient or horse name. I have a power inverter and utility battery to take to shows that do not have electricity. Engraving is an additional charge. I am hoping to purchase some abalone beads in matching colors, so the necklaces can have the abalone beads and some complimentary stone beads. Yes, I took advantage of the clearance special and got a lot. At $.25 each, why not. Then discovered that there were additional discounts due to amount purchased. Ended up paying .12 ech, lol. By the next show in October, I hope to have about 2-3 dozen of these made. earrings neck

Cute Have you ever engraved before? I'm not too good at it myself. The tool travels too much.

Yes, I have engraved many things. All about having a quality tool and knowing how much pressure to use. If one uses too much, it is not good.
