Turquoise? Really? By some coincidence, that word must mean "glass" in Mandarin.

"Natural turquoise" from China nowadays is this blue plaster stuff they make in molds. They can even duplicate spider webbing.

"Exquisite handicrafts. Beautiful jewelry. Do not run through your life so fast that you forget not only where you have been, but also where you are. To be without hope is to be without purpose. To be without dream is to be without hope."
These are the details I'm looking for when buying online.

I left one-star reviews on a couple of items, calling him on the fakeness. This is after I contacted him privately to tell him his stuff is fake. He said he would change the listing, but shockingly he lied. Any way to report to ebay? I did not see a link. I hate stuff like that.

You could try that, although Ebay doesn't seem to do anything about these Chinese fakes.

I LOVE Alex & Ani and have 20-25 of their bracelets but when I saw this I got a little upset with them. They still haven't responded to my email on whether or not they have mislabeled this by calling it turquoise and usually they respond right away

If you have a product made overseas and save a small bit of the assembly to be completed here it can be legally called US made. Pretty common practice. As for turquoise, unless you either dig it or get it directly from the miner, assume it's at least in some way enhanced, and quite possibly something else entirely. Without verified provenance it's a pretty blue rock to me.

I've seen this "turquoise" necklace in their stores and it definitely doesn't look like real turquoise to me. The fact that it is priced the same as other far cheaper materials like rose quartz is also a give away, as real turquoise doesn't come cheap.
I think their customer representatives are just trained to answer this question: "is this real ___?" with yes, its real and natural. This maybe true with their other materials like rose quartz, tigers eye, agate, as those are a natural materials that are widely available and cheap, but that is not true with genuine turquoise.
It is kind of annoying that a big company like them would do something like this, but I think at the end of the day, most people don't know, and don't care about this small lie.
