I recently purchased a Raytech Vibrating lap and just getting used to using it.
I've been polishing some thunderegg halves my grandads had sitting around and just run them at 220 for about 10 hours, so now ready to move them to a finer grit (probably 400).
However, lots of the 220 grit has stuck on the topside of the thunderegg in the various nooks and crannies. I can't get them clean and worried that the next step will be contaminated because of this.
Is there anyway of cleaning the eggs now?
Or have you any suggestions about preventing this happening next time?

Also diameter and height of the Thundereggs halves?

I've got 8 halves in at the moment, one quite large (4" w x 1"h), 2 medium (2.5-3" w x .75"h) the rest (1.5-2" w x .5"h)

Yes I've got one I use for my airbrush, would you just use air to blow it out or water through the airbrush to wash it out?

I would use a pressure washer if you had one.

The halves are fairly flat which explains the grit all over. I use a 5 gallon bucket with the rocks placed cut side down in the bottom and then with the "jet" setting on my common garden hose nozzle blast the exposed side. Sometimes I use a heavy duty plastic bristle brush to go over any really porous rocks. Be sure and rinse with clean water. Been working of me. Hope you live in a mild climate, even in Houston early morning rinsing and scrubbing in sub 40 degree weather is a real character builder!!. Good luck
