That IS a nice mix of material. As usual, it all looks great, though I actually have some faves this time. I'm liking the red agates in #3 (left side) and the one in #10. What are they? ETA: That red Bot at 12 o'clock in #1 is pretty awesome as well.

Of course, they are all beautiful.

Don’t know how you get such a great shine on that obsidian mixed in with agate. What’s your polish?

Don’t know how you get such a great shine on that obsidian mixed in with agate. What’s your polish? Thanks ToadThe load was probably around 40% ceramic filler because of all the rocks with flat faces. That probably helped the obsidian. Stage one rotary 46/70 SC as long as needed with no slurry additives. Weekly clean outs with full grit recharges. Stage two loto 120/220 SC 2 tablespoons no additives for 48 hours Stage three loto 500 AO 1/2 teaspoon + 1 tablespoon of borax for 72 hours Stage four loto rockshed A/O polish 1/2 teaspoon + 1 tablespoon of borax for 72 hours Final burnish 2 hours in the loto with 2 tablespoons of borax No burnish runs between stages Chuck

Thanks. I have been using tin oxide with good results and hard stones but not so much on the softer like lapis Jade and obsidian

Those red ones in #3 were in with all the Mexican agates I purchased but no idea on exact location/variety. The redish Bot in the group shot deserved a closeup but must have forgot to get one. Chuck

Always some of the best eye candy on the board! Those random Mexicans are sweet! Thanks Brian. I think the fact that nobody even mentioned the Montana agates is a testament to how special the other rocks in this batch are. Chuck

Wow! Chuck you have some fantastic material to work with! What an interesting group.
The Geode with the pocket is super interesting, and I bet it made clean outs a bit more time consuming.
I am impressed that you got the long, vertical looking rock in to the LottO, and it played well with the rest of the load.
My favorites by far though, at 9-O'clock and 6-O'Clock in the main shot, and slide #4.
Yes, I like the more opaque looking rocks.

I have been fortunate too come across some real cool tumbling materials. After years of non stop tumbling it can become a challenge to stay interested so self collected gives way to some more exotic stuff. I still tumble all the self collected stuff but the exotic stuff is sprinkled in to spice things up. Crystal pockets do add some work to the tumble but they are always worth it. The opaque ones you like are picture jaspers. That material is a real pleasure to work with. I highly recommend it. I got the rough from RTH member roy at a very affordable price. Click the thread link below to see more of it tumbled and further into the thread I posted the rough I started with. forum.rocktumblinghobby.com/thread/85744/picture-jasper-tiger-eyeChuck

They look amazing! Really nice batch. Sate my curiosity: what is the longitudinal, pale yellow "stick" stretching from 3 to 5-o'clock?
