Really great setup and what a doll!
So glad it was a success for him. I think seeing joy in our children is one of the greatest things ever

Great set up! I really like his logo. And WOW his display is really great! I'm sure it was hard for him at first, being shy and awkward, but he stepped up and hit the ball outta the park. Good for him! I know you're proud, too. Awesome job to the both of you!

What an awesome experience for your young man! I know he worked very hard with you to get this all together and his hard work paid off. His table display is awesome! Congrats to him (and to you) on his success!

It was fun hanging back watching him do his thing and getting more confident as the day went on. The only times I helped were when there were people waiting and he was already talking to another customer, and for about ten minutes when he wanted to go check out the rest of the show himself. Al

We did a mock up the night before at home so he could fine tune it. Very glad we did as it made setting it up the next day so much easier, not to mention there were a couple things not really thought about until it was all together. Al

I like it ... pretty darn cool. Startem young I say. Yep, more productive than being on the electronics. The tables on either side of him were occupied by teenage girls who sat the entire time staring at their phones- neither one made a single sale. Al

Congratulations, well done! Really nice display. (Oh and I love the tic-tac-toe idea.) Wouldn't you know it- the girl to his right got there a few minutes after the show began and was setting up very haphazardly when we saw she had a similar idea. Although her playing pieces were beads from a craft store. When I saw her setting up as I thought what are the chances of her being next to him as there were over 100 sellers there. She did not sell anything as she was looking at her phone the whole time. A.J. did not sell many of those either though as the pendants were far and away the big winner, followed by the magnets. Al

Congrats to him (and to you) on his success! He did work very hard, right up until late Friday night getting everything together. It was pretty eye opening to him how much more work there is to do after getting the creations made! I'm sure you know all about that! Al

Do you think he will stick with the rock hobby awhile or did this burn him out on it?

Hey A.J. - it looks like you're off to a great start there! First show we ever did we only sold ONE rock. I was really nervous leading up to the show as I didn't think I would finish everything in time. I sold a lot more than I thought I would. I went to your website and really like all of the opal A.J.

Do you think he will stick with the rock hobby awhile or did this burn him out on it? Hmm...I was worried about that myself. He is already planning (just in his mind) for next year. I definitely plan on slowing things down the next couple of months as the whole point of this hobby was to have fun together. He did very well in sales yesterday and that may be going to his head a bit . I did have to give him a gentle reminder that all of his rocks, grit, wire, etc., etc. were provided free of charge and because this was his first show he could keep the proceeds to use towards the hobby- next round of rocks is on him! Al This is an excellent business learning opportunity. Sure is. I didn't want to suck all of the fun out of this for him so we did not really keep track of costs accurately but I would show him receipts and whenever he needed anything he would go shopping with me so he could see the costs involved. The way we put it to him is that we are investing in him but if he continues to do these type of shows he will be a bit more responsible for recouping the costs out of his sales. Al

That's a really nice looking display and A.J. looks very professional. You should ask Chuck Drummond Island Rocks about selling bulk tumbled stones. I think those do really well for him and his son. Just an idea for next year. I also like the tic tac toe idea. I'm surprised those didn't sell better.
