I am going to be in Boulder Colorado for a week or two and was curious if anyone knows of areas open to the public (fee or free) to look for rock, bone, or gemstones? Barring rockhounding areas; does anyone know of good lapidary shops to look for cabbing materials? I found a few shops online but they look more geared toward tourists or specimen collectors.
Thanks for tips!

San Juan Gems Rock Shop in Cortez, Co. might work if buying. Larry has been to some of the Austin shows with a lot of material.
