I just got a Flickr message stating I have to pay them or they will delete my images. No other options.
Thanks Flickr. I won't click on either button.
How much are they charging?

I signed up last year for $35.00. It was listed as a one time deal for current free customers, so do not know what the current charge is.

I don't recall receiving that email. Nevertheless --- bye bye, Flickr!
All my photos are on my computer. Need to buckle down and learn the local RTH photo system.
Thanks for the heads up.

The new Cloudinary is really nice. It's a little hairy setting it up, but if you follow Tommy's instructions it will be fine. Then all you have to do is drag and drop.

NRG are you over the 1000 free photos level? Unless something has just now changed Flickr allows 1000 free photos and if we exceed that then they delete.

I paid the $35 discounted year price also. Next year we will see. I like having my photos in a site like FlickR so I’ll prob continue to use it.
I did set up Cloudinary for here and it’s awesome. I still upload all to flickR because it integrates so much more nicely with my photo software and phone.

Really don't want to fix broken links again, ala PB fiasco. But have much more than 1000 images on Flickr/Smugmug. (Never did get what that was all about!) Paring it down from 4K? Don't see that happening!

Been on Flickr since 2006 and have over 2,500 photos there. I paid the $35 and consider it a value against the time it would take to move them all and secure them somewhere else on the cloud. My photos are accessible from anywhere and are a redundant backup to the hard drive, thumb drives and CDs I've burnt with photo libraries. Plus, there is a social element to Flickr. I follow several members, whose photos I view and enjoy regularly.

I stay under the 1000 photo mark on Flickr.... I have them stored elsewhere too.. Had some on a new hard drive (External) and it froze on us!! Never did get our photos off it either, cost us $75 to get it done too, just like throwing money out the door! Lost over 6000 photos and videos!

Eff flickr I had to pay their fee, flickr has me. Calling it a business expense. They should have given you and I a free ride as much as we advertised for them. No loyalty in this world of the internet.

I haven't uploaded any new photos for a year or two, but I have so many photos already hosted on Flickr that I don't want to break the links to them, almost exclusively here on RTH (shades of PB).
I purchased one year of Flickr Pro on November 16th, 2018 for $34.99 (some percentage off). I am now set up for automatic renewal on 11/16/19 for $49.99. Is it worth $50 a year to keep all those links intact? Maybe, maybe not. I guess I'll pay it until I either can't afford it, or they get greedy andraise the price. Ideally, I'll find the time to upload all the photos elsewhere, and repair ALL of the links.

Once you load a photo it becomes public property unless perhaps you put privacy restrictions on it. Can be a good thing, can be a bad thing. If it is a photo of a product you sell it can be lucrative. Best to post it on as many marketing sites as possible, including sites like Pinterest. Sites like Houzz and Etsy pay Google big ad money to push your products. Tag your photos with your business name so people can click on them to find the product's source. Example: Eastwood box/pan metal brake found on Yahoo(or Google)images. A similar image would likely show up if you only searched "metal brake". Search engine Images serve as an efficient shopping/searching method.
