I bought an LU6X in 1975. It was my first machine and I wore it out in a few years. I recently gave it to my nephew and he has rebuilt it and is cutting cabs on the machine. I loved it...

Well, my wife read this thread and told me "just buy it", so I left a message with the seller. Hopefully he still has it. Renew your vows because she is special.🤩

Just got it back home. Seller included some templates, wax, and some stones to try it out with. We'll see how this goes.

Other than needing a lot of oil and the coolant pan sanded and repainted, the saw works just fine! Someday, I hope to cut some malachite or something similar and inlay it into the fretboard of my guitar. It would be different than the usual nacre, and being a slide guitar, i don't have to worry about the material getting scratched.

What color is the fret board? What brand of guitar? Photo please. Doing something similar is on my dream list for my Dulcimer.

I haven't done any work on it yet, it's a Paul Beard Gold Tone. It's got a great sound.

So, I'm currently working on scrubbing and oiling the machine while I wait on the blade guard and a grab bag of slabs to arrive. Any suggestions on where to order sanding belts for the 6 inch drum from? I'm leaning towards Kingsley, since they're a bit cheaper than some. I think my drip setup is going to be a gallon jug with a couple .25" tubes inserted.
