That's a whole bunch "O" drivin! Are you considering making the drive? If so, will you be pulling anything? It would be a great excuse to escape your winter for a bit. I think melhill1659 made the drive last year from northeast Missouri and pulled a tent trailer. Not sure, though, as we had to cancel and couldn't make it. A few folks from RTH boondock in the local desert lands, some will motel, though rooms in the area are somewhat sparse and can be expensive. There are RV parks in the area - just remember it's snowbird time and it looks like it gets busy. We did the motel thing when we went. If we can make it this year, we'll do the same. Maybe some of the boondockers like Tommy, NRG, or orrum will jump in with advice.

MJ has been complaining for the past few years since retirement we haven't went to many places. And there really is nothing holding us back other than motivation to get moving. It will cost a $1000.00 in fuel there and back. Plus camping and food and stuff Id figure it to be a $3000.00 trip.

TheRock you should make the trip at least once to experience it. It's loads of fun and there are more rocks than you can shake a stick at!
If not now, when?

BO want's to know if there are gonna be any other Puhee's out there for him to play with? He goes everywhere with us, as He is MaryJanes Service Dog, and is so well behaved and is a perfect Gentleman no matter where we are at Church, Restaurant, he just sits and lays down next to Momma and just looks around. He does not chase or bark at other animals he thinks he's a Human. We get compliments on him wherever we go.

TheRock while you are out in this direction, you need to get to Tucson for the biggest gem and mineral and rock show/sale in the world. Check for the dates; there is usually overlap with Quartzite. Both are worth while.

Just to clarify "is there any camping". Desert Gardens where the rough and "rough rockers" sell is an RV park. So you can be Catmandewe's neighbor if want. It sweet to walk out of your rig and stroll the lines before the crowds or after your nap. Dogs too seem to be permitted. When you see the Q, you will understand. '

From Googling it looks like there is Two? The one in Quartzite. By your map it seems the other in closer to Tucson. Quartzite is far west Arizona. Regarding campsites. Most are dry although Desert Gardens itself does have hookups. drocknut is quite knowledgeable about various places to park your rig.

This is wintertime in Arizona, you might be looking for shade occasionally but you shouldnt need AC very often. The nights do get cold sometimes so you might want a heater or a good heavy blanket.

Unless it rains. ETA And if you don't bring your dog, you aren't welcome. 😎👍

NRG set you straight. That other Desert Gardens RV park is just southeast of Florence which is quite a ways from Quartzsite. I drive by it every time I go visit my parents outside of Tucson. As mentioned, the one you want IS in Q.

This is way early, I know, but I just made our reservations for the Pow-Wow this year. Last year we got skunked and couldn't find a room anywhere (I think it was September when I went to book), so this year is confirmed!
Hopefully, Tony catmandewe will be hosting the annual BBQ and we'll be able to hang out with y'all at the Idaho Rock Shop South Resort with it's 5-star dining.
Anybody else thinking about Q yet?
Dang! Dang! Dang!! I sure would like to attend. It's a 1290 mile trip from my house, 1284 of which is on I-10. Unfortunately I have two tentative trips to Deming, one in March and one in June. Both to help out a couple of friends. A third trip is pushing it. I have met two people from the Forum, toiv0, and txrockhunter, two quality folks and I am sure that I would be able to add a bunch of names to the esteemed list.

Usually about 20-30 members and their spouses are there. Be there, or be square!
