USPS delivery is the gold standard for me followed by UPS. Ontrac, Fedex and Amazon drivers just don't care; neither do their customer service. I have a lot of packages delivered. The worst is Amazon. The last package they delivered was found halfway up my driveway in the bushes. It may have been put their by a neighbor. I called and complained and delivery instructions were discussed. I made an order today and decided to add delivery instructions. It turns out that I had already set them up and they were very clear.
My regular USPS carrier is great and goes the extra mile. Substitutes at least leave the package on my mail box. All the others except UPS will leave the package at another house even though the houses have visible numbers that don't match the address on the package.

And the poor guys mining gold in Alaska mail it to themselves in the lower 48, rather than carry it across the border into Canada or from Canada to the USA when they drive south for winter. There must be some rich post office workers. More profitable than stealing birthday cards.

I have great local carriers here, both for the post office and ups. In fact, our current carrier for the usps takes my 4 year-old grandson up and down the street if he happens to be at the house- which he loves. She even gives him cookies! Of course it helps that I live in a small town, my youngest son (he's 25) went to preschool with her daughter so we've known her for a long time.

My grandaughter was home from the dorm for the weekend. Our mailman saw her and asked how she was doing in her classes. I thought that was pretty sweet. He must have known by the mail ... and the big W&M flag out front.

Once I ordered a package from a guy about 120 miles away. It took 2 weeks to arrive, the envelope (clearly marked multiple times with "hand cancel") was mangled and torn with roller marks halfway across. No damage to the stony-iron meteorite slab inside, though. Wonder what it did to the machinery --?

Was waiting for confirmation from miket that my latest shipment arrived intact. E verything was perfect, as I had sent it. All slabs/slabettes were individually taped to cardboard. Then another piece of cardboard was taped to the one with the slabs. /cardboard scraps used for filler. Rough rocks were in TP tubes. Some of the fragile ones were wrapped in paper towel. Both ends of the TP tubes were taped. There was one tube of jewlery findings. TP tubes fit perfectly in a SFRB. There was no movement with either box when I shook it before final taping. Photos of what I did.

I love some of my USPS carriers, others not so much. I live on a very busy road where semi's and others drive 75+ MPH on the curvy, hilly, 2 lane road with lots of deer. The wind from especially the semi's causes my mailbox door to open sometimes. Snowplows have taken out my mailbox and post. Some carriers do not understand they need to close the door tight.
I have never had a carrier throw a box on my front entrance. Some carriers will bring a box in my front hallway.
I recently had to laugh. A carrier who was dropping off a box let me know they were hiring. Said he thought I would be the perfect person for a part time job with the USPS, as I understood the needs. The position would be "only" 3-4 days/week for 6-8 hrs/day. Would also be on call for immediate needs. Potential of 50 hrs/week. Let him know I appreciated the heads up, but it was something I could not do, as it would conflict with my other part time jobs. He really seemed disappointed.

And it arrived in great shape- not one chipped stone.

I sent 16 LFRB from Cali to Mn. Almost every single one of them was damaged, stuff was missing out of the holes, slabs busted, my Fenton perfume bottles gone😠and 1 box had some mail in it from some random guy I've never heard of. (Explain that one) I filed a complaint with the post office and wasnt very nice at all about it either. All I got was "we will talk to the carrier" So when I saw the carrier, I spoke with her myself. She said they were damaged when they got to her and no one from the post office has ever contacted her. So another complaint got filed with so far no response All boxes had stickers and writing and I even marked some of them glass. If you are not getting satisfaction from the local branch then try complaining to your district post office's Postmaster. If that doesn't work file a complaint with the Postmaster General's Office. webpmt.usps.gov/pmt002.cfmwww.howtodothings.com/business/how-to-file-a-complaint-with-the-postmaster-generalWe live in a rural subdivision and for a while were having problems with delivery drivers. The local delivery drivers are contract labor who drive their own vehicles and are not official USPS employees. I don't know how they get hired but for a while we had some real yahoos. One afternoon I heard something heavy hit the front wall of the house hard and loud. I was only a few feet from the front window when it happened so I immediately looked out the window and found that the carrier had pulled in our driveway, and without exiting his car had thrown a box with books that I had ordered about 25' from his car to our front porch and hit the front wall of the house. I called the local post office branch and read the branch manager the "riot act". A few weeks later the weekend carrier for the same branch decided that rather than pulling in the driveway and delivering a MFRP box to the carport or front porch they left it lay on the wet ground under our mailbox at the road where everyone driving by would see it and anyone could have done a slow roll snatch. So that following Monday I went to the post office and complained to the branch manager. I could tell that she really couldn't care less as she barely even looked up from what she was doing. So I told her, "Alright, I've complained to you once by phone and once in person, so if anything like this ever happens again I'm not going to waste my time complaining to you, I'm going to complaint to the district post office Postmaster in Greensboro and if that doesn't work then the next time with the Post Master General. And it wasn't until that point that she looked up and appeared to give me her full attention. Some months later I went out to accept a package from a new weekday deliverer who grinned and asked me "has anyone bounced any packages your house lately?". Larry C. That is who has my complaint now. We will see what happens.

I have had no luck with Regional or Postmaster General. Just the generic, no response allowed emails. No phone number to call.
I hope you have better luck than I did.
