I will be set up as a hobby vendor at a rock and gem show here in Michigan this weekend. I always do a pre-show setup so I have an idea of how it will look. I took a quick video today as I was laying stuff out. This is always my favorite part. Not too often do I get to see so much of my stuff all at one time. I am usually happy to cover my table costs and be able to order enough grit for the next year.
Thanks for looking, Chuck

Your setup makes it easy for lookers to become buyers.
Good luck at your show!

Looks great! Those rose quartz really jump out at you. Good luck at the show. Thanks. This was just a crude setup. Will look better Saturday with table covers and lights. I wish I could remember where that rose quartz came from. It was the best I have had. Very gemmy color. Chuck

Your setup makes it easy for lookers to become buyers. Good luck at your show! The ziplock containers are great for tumbles. When the show is over I just put the lids on a stack them in crates. They stay stay in those containers year round and that keeps them clean and dust free. Chuck

Wish you lots of luck and good fortune! Thanks MsAli. Shows are fun. I have been doing the same couple of shows for about 8 years now so I have gotten to know the other vendors and several of the repeat customers really well. Chuck

Good luck at the show. Your rocks look really nice. Plug in some big lights and you are good to go. I remember trade shows where the lights were so hot that we felt like a french fry at McDonalds. Still, it was worth it because good lighting is the key to showing off your merch.

My brother coined the phrase "bigify" when talking about enlarging to full frame. I had to come back and bigify that to see all your goodies. Beautiful work and spend worthy display.

In the youtube settings you can also crank it up to 4K but that chows some bandwidth. Looking at the video I might be most proud of the wet shine on the Petoskey stones. There is a whole lot of work involved in those ones. Chuck

What's the material in the container diagonally left of the rose quartz?
Great display. I'm going to my first show in October for our fledgling NE Wyoming club and just seeing a great display like yours gives me some ideas for setup. Thanks for sharing.

The purple looking stuff is neodymium glass. It changes color from blue to purple when is fluorescent or natural lighting. I have photos from my last show that show what my finished setup looks like. I'll find them and post when I get a chance. Chuck

Here a few pictures from my last show to show the final layout. I only do 1 or 2 shows a year but they are fun. Chuck

Wow Chuck, that is one heck of a nice display! MaryJane has a show next weekend and we don't have near the size of display you have yet. For our stones I have then Displayed in Harbor Freight Compartment Boxes. She has cases of etched glass to display along with jewelry and the stones. I have never taken a dime for anything I buy or work I have done. I do it so she has spare spending $$$. Anyway that's a nice display very organized.

Any sales I make throughout the year all go into my separte rock account. The very first year when I started with just small scale tumbling I funded the hobby with household money so spending was limited. For the last 7 years selling online and at shows has fully funded all of my saws, tumblers, silversmithing tools, wire wrapping tools, rocks and grit. The other key factor is getting rid of some rocks. There is sense of pride that comes when people hand you their hard earned money for something you have created. Chuck
