I have the same saw, a real workhorse. The price is decent too.

I was interested until I re-measured my shop (garage) and determined that the saw would be living outdoors under a cover until I sold a car of got rid of a bunch of useful stuff in my garage.
I talked to the owner (Jim) out in Scottsdale, and he is a stand up business guy who uses the saw, and about half a dozen others for his business.
I figure that information I gathered, might be of help to anyone else here who is interested in a older HP saw:
- He owned it for 14 years. - It was made in the 60's or 70's - It obviously does not have a belt guard (there should be 2 of them) - It does not have the idler wheel set up properly (as seen in pic) - He swapped out the 3 step pulley wheel for another one, so the blade would turn slower, and last longer (his words) - The man owns and operates a fully functional rock processing shop, and has 6 saws - He is selling this because it is large and he wants to put a 24" saw in its place in the room - He had it listed for 1600 and it didn't move, so dropped to 1400, because he really wants to move it - He put the 110v / 220v motor on it himself about 8 years ago to lower the price of electrity. I guess 220v uses less power. - He says the tank is solid, doesn't flex and doesn't leak - He says he doesn't have a problem with the blade stalling on rocks, due to slower speed - He put a Diamond Pacific blade on it, but the blade is over 10 years old. Says it still is lots of life ... - He used it recently, but just went through the clean up to try to sell it. - He says that it has been used regularly for 14 years, and has about 300 pounds of rock go through it annually. - The bearings for the saw shaft don't have play - The bearings on the 2 main shafts for the vice are solid and dont play - The belts and pulley wheels and bearings for them are solid and no play - The auto-feed works good, and so does automatic shut off chain and mechanism
That's about it. Hope it helps others.

Bill, Sorry it didn't work out for the acquisition... I can vouch for all of those points!

The saw has 300# a year go thru it?
To put that in perspective, it can slab a 30# stone per day. So this is approximately 10 days full time usage. 2 normal work weeks can do 300# or so.
This is a low use machine. Seems like a great buy.
