Not a rock show, but last year there were several vendors with rock related items. Rough, slabs, cabs and jewelry. Prices for the rough, slabs and cabs were very reasonable. One also had strands of polished rock chips. My daughter and I are going, so will post a report. It is a very large show devoted to Christmas related items, ie decorations and potential gifts. Lots of cool, hand made items. Some items that were purchased for resale. I am guessing that a large basket of cabs I saw were purchased for resale. They were priced at $3.00 each. Saw another cab display with individual prices for each cab. Those ranged from $10.00 to $30.00. Those were made by the seller. Slabs were mostly in the $2.00 to $5.00 range. Some were less than $1.00. Rough rocks/fossils were mostly .50 to $5.00 each. The higher priced ones were larger, say 4-6". Some pet wood, Amethyst, Onyx, Jaspers, Agates and fossils. There were some beautiful specimen pieces for up to $200.00. www.stevenspointarea.com/event/tinsel-trail/5400/

We went to the show yesterday. The vendor requirements were changed, allowing only hand made or up-scaled items.
There was only one person with lapidary related items. He also had fossils, wire wraps, pendants, tumbled rocks, etc.
At the back of his booth was a small basket with some slabs. Did not find anything there I wanted.
Did find the chip strands of Tigers Eye and Amethyst I needed. Also went through a bargain bin of pendents. All either had a pinch bail or a hole drilled lengthwise through the rock. Found 4 that I want to rework. They were only $2.50 each.
Even though there was not much rock related, I had a great time. Did some pricing and style research. There were signs all over the place, stating that photos were not allowed. I did hear some potential customers ask vendors if they could take a photo of an item to send to someone for potential purchase. Some said yes, some no. Dunno if it is the same elsewhere, but around here the world of arts/crafts is extremely competitive. More and more people are trying to become acknowledged as artisans. To have primary income source be making items. Kuddos to them if they can do it.
I did see a few people I knew. They asked where my booth was. Just said I did not have one, but informed them about my Small Business Saturday sale on Facebook page.
It was a nice Mother/Daughter outing. Yes, we were baby free, as my daughter felt the environment would be too much stimulation for AJ. I agreed.

Here is what I purchased. After all, no photo means it did not happen, right? LOL. The oval pendants have 2" cabs. One has some nice agate patterns that do not show up in photo. Lots of flash in the Tigers Eye. Many dark rocks in the Amethyst. Polish is excellent on all. Very happy to pay $5.00 for each 36" strand. Photo came out a little lighter than in person.
