Ventured to East side of property yesterday. The trenching system is working well. 6" of water flowing. Pretty ice crystals. Through the culvert. East edge of pasture. The snow fencing is next to neighbors driveway. No culvert there, so water flows over driveway. There is a culvert going under highway, but it is presently about 12" above the water level. White post marks culvert. A couple of tenants were curious and came over to greet me.

Stopped by my fav counter place on Sunday. They have expanded outdoor showroom. Here are my favorites for the counters in my lapidary shop. They do not have any Larvikite at the moment, but more will be coming soon. Price for the sizes I would need is very reasonable and includes install. I know there are some drawbacks to having natural stone counters in a lapidary shop, but with a little care they could be kept beautiful.

fernwood If I had counters that looked like that, I'd be tempted to cut/cab/tumble them. Our local rock club once took a field trip to a business in GA that let them go through their stone countertop scraps.

Some Rock Tumbling Wave Energy Meanwhile this was happening off Pensacola FL (45 mins from me) during spring break. Be careful getting drunk and going for a night swim.

Thank you Rockjunquie, Pat and others for the compliments. Those are just smartphone pictures from an iPhone. I keep drowning my real cameras while I'm chasing agates and trying to dodge waves down at the beach I guess I'm going to need to hustle some RockCoin so I can buy a new waterproof camera

Where is this place, I'll answer in a week if no one knows. A well visited area. Looks like no one took a guess at where this place is. Pretty much at the western end of where the good rock hunting is at McDermitt there is the Gary Green diggings and an old cinnabar mine. From the top of the hill where the Gary Green is this building can be seen to the west. We think it was a bunkhouse for mine workers. Names and dates scratched into the wallls go back to the twenties. "Fools names and fools faces are often seen in public places", our names are dated 5-2000.

Putting the finishing touches on the never-ending Covid Renovation project that started in 2020. The shut downs lingered just long enough that we were able to finish the flooring in the entire house (except the kitchen) and light remodel two bathrooms. In the master bathroom we made the difficult decision to remove the ugly ceramic tile floor and run the plank flooring in from the bedroom and it was a lot of work but we're super happy with it now. The last thing on our wish list was to build my wife a custom cabinet to display and easily access her cabochons and jewelry. The original metal and mirror medicine cabinet had to go anyway so we decided on a built-in in it's place. I just installed the hooks this morning and she super happy with it and I'm super happy too so there you have it. I built it out of poplar to meet the dimensions of the old medicine cabinet and the style and color of the new vanity and mirrors. I still have a few things to do like replacing the upstairs crappy particle board window sills with custom cut wood sills, but the majority of the project is done which is a good thing because my work is suddenly going bonkers.

Pat our Loropetalum is running a little behind yours this year. I did trim it last fall so the blooms are looking denser this spring. You can't see it, but there is a mailbox sticking out from the other side. Hope the bees don't get the mail lady.
