Still needs some tweaking, but what is done so far. I was asked to make a couple of wreaths for work. The next one will have assorted evergreens and glass, Christmas light bulb shaped ornaments. I have not made wreaths in about 10 years and am greatly enjoying it. This one has spruce, balsam and pine branches. Hydrangea and decorative grass. The bow is sumac berries. A few plastic strawberries for added color.

Forgot to post this the other night. Our granddaughter's 8th grade band concert was the other night. It was the 6-8th graders doing the concert together. I will say it was better this year than most other years, as I didn't leave feeling like I was bleeding from my ears. One of the best examples of the difference between my wife and I happened during the concert. There was a trombone player right in the front row...nearest to the audience that had a bit of an issue. As the director raised her arms to begin the next song, that was/is the signal for the musicians to raise their instruments. Well...as the kid was raising his trombone, somehow he managed to lose control of the slide...sending it skittering across the stage toward the director. MY first reaction was to burst out laughing (stifled of course)...but apparently it wasn't muffled enough for my wife, as I got "the look". My wife felt so badly for the kid...and I did to a point. I figured that right there will end up being the only lasting memory of the concert for that kid. A hilarious memory...someday...maybe not soon...but someday! LOL Our granddaughter is one of the three standing on the left...playing percussion.

I played percussion in grade and middle school. Wanted something else, but all instruments were based on alphabetical orer of last name or if you were a certain nationality, certain religion or lived in a certain area. My percussion training proved positive so could learn to play guitar and Appalachian dulcimer. Knowing how to have and understand a beat is very useful.

It wasn't loud enough for the kid to hear!! (But apparently it was loud enough for my wife to hear, who was sitting right next to me! It's not the first time I've found humor where others apparently didn't - and most likely not the last time! LOL )
