About 1966. I am 4 years old. I am learning how to ice fish. Fishing was something that everyone in my family learned how to do at a very early age. I was watching the tip ups. Saw the flag go up. Ran over there to wait a while and then set the hook. Let my Grandpa who was with me know there was a large fish on the line.
He came out of the ice fishing shack and helped me with the fish.
My family was great with documenting certain photos.
A piece of paper attached to this one says: Beth’s first Walleye ice fishing. January, 1966. She was watching the tip ups and even set the hook. Then let Dad (my Grandpa) know there was a big fish on the line. He helped her fight and land it. A nice 26” Walleye.
I think she is going to be a great fisherman. Something I really do not like to do.
This was written by my Mom.
The shadow is that of my Uncle Jerry. He was my Mom's brother. We all lived together on the lake.

Listen to the rock. The rock knows its destiny. It will guide you in fulfilling that.
"Of all tyrannies, a tyranny sincerely exercised for the good of its victims may be the most oppressive. It would be better to live under robber barons than under omnipotent moral busybodies. The robber baron's cruelty may sometimes sleep, his cupidity may at some point be satiated; but those who torment us for our own good will torment us without end for they do so with the approval of their own conscience."
I was browsing through some old photos from about 1965. Found one of mom and me with our pet coyote. I remember endless hours of wrestling and playing tug of war with him. Life on a remote Wyoming ranch had it's unique spell.
If we were able to carry the love and tolerance shown here into the world as a whole and get anyone to follow the example set, who knows what could be born from that? Stonemon RIP

MsAli Beautiful! How much below zero by you? I wouldn't get off the couch if I were you.
When we woke up yesterday (5am) it was -23 before the wind chill. This morning it was -1 and within a few hours it's now 26 (above)
It won't make you feel better...but we're hitting 50 today...and supposed to again tomorrow!

Finished another one today. This one is the most technically correct of all that I've done as far as the geometry and mechanics go. Appearance is secondary in my opinion and this one did ok in that aspect also. I'm pleased my skill is improving.

RWA3006 Do you have a sewing machine that is able to go through the leather or is that hand stitched? And is it stitched prior to the forming of the leather?

I hand stitch them before forming the leather. I inherited a leather sewing machine from my granddad but it's buried in storage so I'll have to dig for it. So far I'm just doing prototypes and trying to develop skills and a business model for if I want to do this when I get too old to manufacture ammunition which is my current career.
