Had a hard time liking this post. Glad no one was hurt. We've gotten a LOT bigger hail...but the sheer quantity of the hail yesterday really did a number on all the vegetation! I "heard" there was 2" of rain (along with the hail) in less than an hour out at our house.

This picture was from about 15 miles south of us...I don't think it made it to ground though.

Dang @jasoninsde! Sorry to see all your plants get shredded like that. We had a storm on May 19th with hail and 2" of rain in about an hour. Rain was coming down so hard you could see much. Luckily the North end of Chino got the hail and I just got the rain. Glad that tornado didn't decide to touch down. It looked pretty mean.

I'll be honest...I'm glad it was just the vegetation that got wiped out this time. Three years ago the house got slammed with hail. Wiped out the siding, windows, a sliding glass door, and "golf-balled" the metal roof. Insurance came through on that one...thankfully!

Have to share. AJ turned 4 years old today! I have loved watching him turn into a very caring, sensitive, polite young man. Unfortunately, I cannot see him until sometime next week, due to my work schedule and his family going camping this weekend. Since he is 4 years old, I am giving him a special rock. It is a lava bomb from the Miladore, WI ancient volcano range. My SIL’s family is from Miladore. AJ often goes to events on the family farm there. I think this is the perfect first rock for me to give him. He will get some Coprolite next year, as he loves dino’s.

Just realized there was a Sandhill Crane on a nest in this photo I took. Was enlarging it to do creative photography crop of the reflections in the water. Had I known there was a nesting Sandhill I would have left immediately. Appreciate that she allowed me to take some photos. This is a remote portion of the Tomorrow River, Portage county, near Amherst, WI. This was the photo I took and did not see the Sandhill.

I thought I'd give a plug for the best tomatoes that we've found to grow in pots.
They are called " Tumbling Tom" tomatoes & we grow them on our deck, and they really produce a lot of fruit.
Only thing is you have to keep after them every day to make sure they stay watered.
BLT's, here we come. Patty

That's a beauty rickb , I love the handle - it goes too well with the Mahogany obsidian.
