This was found out at my in-laws here in Moore, Frio County, southern Texas. Soil is predominantly sand and iron, flint and agate abound. So my MIL was trying to figure out how this limestone and iron became folded. An inspection of the other end reveals complete bands more like a limestone dipped in iron and caliche over and over.

And then there’s the mystery of what that little pink thing is in the bottom left of the pic and another to the right of the rock.

Limonite concretion, not folded, but more like fortification agate. www.flickr.com/photos/14833125@N02/33857667872/in/photostream/

"Granddaughters" the female offspring of my wife and her sisters, they run wild in this part of the country leaving behind them an assortment of shoes, hair ties, glitter, beads, and other unseemly detritus

You may wind up with a magical miniature rainbow unicorn, that can fly around and spot all the worthy rocks from the sky.
