John Ilett and his colleagues were working at a fish farm off the coast of northern Vancouver Island this week when they witnessed a knock-down drag-out fight between an octopus and bald eagle and caught the battle on video. www.cbc.ca/player/play/1655725123624/

That octopus looked like something from a bad dream. Glad the eagle got away.

OMG, what a nightmare that must have been for the eagle. Good thing those agriculture guys were there to help it out. That was a big octopus. Not sure I've seen a red one like that before. Usually I think octopuses (had to look up the plural) are pretty cool, especially those ones that have the blue circles on them, but in this case maybe not so much.

OMG, what a nightmare that must have been for the eagle. Good thing those agriculture guys were there to help it out. That was a big octopus. Not sure I've seen a red one like that before. Usually I think octopuses (had to look up the plural) are pretty cool, especially those ones that have the blue circles on them, but in this case maybe not so much. I've seen a lot of starfish,orcas and sea lions first for me seeing a red octopus also

I suspect the Eagle grabbed the Octopus first and his lunch turned the tables on him ! Good thing the Fishermen saw the struggle and saved his Bacon !

I suspect the Eagle grabbed the Octopus first and his lunch turned the tables on him ! Good thing the Fishermen saw the struggle and saved his Bacon ! The eagle's eat a lot of squid out there. Probably thought he hit the smorgasbord until it fought back. Lol
